Embroidery Art: Maria Vasilyeva is a russian artist who is strongly influenced by the renaissance period. She makes brooches, pendants, purses which are inspired from the renaissance period. She has taken embroidery to the next level by creating portraits which resemble oil paintings. Every thread is stitched which resembles a brush stroke which is similar to oil paintings. Some of her embroidery paintings are embellished on velvet cloths which are then adorned with beads and glitter to make them into stunning mantel pieces.
